Implementing Project Work
At Alpha High School, learning takes place mainly through
projects as a part of the experiential learning program, which aims to provide
students with the opportunity to interconnect knowledge from various areas of
learning and apply it to real-life situations. This initiative enables students
to develop interpersonal skills such as collaboration, communication, and
independent learning and develops a continuous learning mindset throughout
their lives, so they can face the challenges ahead.
Project Work teaches students how to work in teams, as well
as take independent initiatives through critical thinking and evaluation of
their work processes. The following are the learning outcomes for the project
work technique that we will use at Alpha High School:
Students will acquire
the ability to integrate knowledge in multi-disciplinary fields. Hence, they
will construct and evaluate information to apply these skills in various
projects.
Students will acquire effective communication skills in both written and oral forms. These skills will be presented by expressing ideas clearly and coherently to audiences.
Students will learn
to collaborate effectively by working in a team to achieve common goals.
Students will learn
independently, reflect, and effectively utilize the acquired education.
Beyond the Classroom - Experiential Learning
At Alpha High School, students acquire knowledge through
experiential learning. The program enables students to apply acquired knowledge
through unique projects and develop various skills as part of our holistic
educational experience.
Experiential learning opportunities take students beyond the
traditional boundaries of the classroom and encourage hands-on application of
acquired knowledge. Students will learn and explore various professional
streams, unique cultures, and the world around them.
As part of our experiential learning program, we’ve
incorporated the Open Minds Program and Research-Based Field trips:
Open Minds Program: This innovative learning
experience takes students beyond the classroom to extend learning in various
real-world settings. Students receive firsthand experience with experts in
different fields, including science, arts, history, etc. Open Minds Program is
a unique opportunity for students to explore from a young age and provides
insights into different careers.
Research-Based Field Trips: At Alpha High, students
are taken on field trips to explore the world beyond our classrooms! Field
trips provide students with excursion trips in the real world that extend and
enhance students’ understanding of academics in a unique fashion.
We at Alpha High work towards ensuring our graduates go on
to make a difference in the world and achieve great success in their future
endeavors.
